Fun at the county FAIR!

We had a great time at our local county fair last night! This was the first year that we entered crafts as well as the first year we ever attended! This was also the first fair that the kids have ever been to, so they had a blast!

Let's start with my favorite! The COWS!!!

Kayla says" look at those camel cows mom!!!! LOL I just love kids!

Time for the cookie lookin chickens!! Check out the puff ball on top of this fella!

This one looked so soft and fluffy!

Definitely my favorite~!!!

Waskaley Wabbits!!!

This was one SERIOUSLY LARGE rabbit!!

Last but not least, the piggies!

had to take this pictures... I just had too!

buy piggies!

Ok, now it's time for some serious crafty business! This first pictures is of a set of jewelry I made. I didn't get any pics of this on the blog earlier, I will be taking some better ones when I get them back after Saturday night. This is a bracelet on the far right, a round necklace next to that,a ring VERY hard to see above that and a pair of small round earrings to the left of all that! These were made out of 1 and a 1/4 Cherry Coke cans! So much fun!! Can't wait to make more set's of these! Could make these in so many different ways! Looks like I won first place and a "special" ribbon... not sure what that means, but totally cool none the less!!

This is the patchwork ribbon bracelet I made alittle while back with a ribbon spool! Yippy!

My daughters were so excited to see that there puzzle friendship necklaces won as well as Kayla's plastic bottle ribbon wrap bracelet!

When we went to enter this dress into the duct tape contest, we were too late!! BUT, we wern't to late to enter it into the craft part of the open class competition! Kayla was SO super happy to win a ribbon!

This is my newest Oatmeal purse. Will get better pics up of this one soon as well.

Coke Can Flower!

Jean apron!

Record notebook!

Sammy did this marker coloring that morning! She's SO happy!

These are two drawings of Kayla's. One is a fall late afternoon at the park, and the other is the Lost sheep!

This one Sammy did... hard to see but she put alot of tiny details into it, even added her own leaves and branches at the top...

This I call my "Soda Farm". It's a terrible pic, sorry!! I painted a background and then added a cow, rooster, pig and some grass made all out of Soda cans!!

Last but not least, Sammy's Cross stitch of "God is LOVE"!

Some pics of the family..

Ben got a fireman badge sticker when we were looking at the trucks.... when we made it to the police officers, well... they added a few stickers and a real pin on badge!

Time for rides! Let's go fly!!

We're flying

Weeeeeeeee!!!!

The girls both road this one. Kayla loved it...Sammy....not quite as much!

Ben thinks he wants to ride!

Going to the fair!

The girls and I plan on going out to the county fair today. Monday night we went up to the fair to enter some of our crafts in the open-class contests. It was pretty stressful actually, but I'm pretty sure that was mostly my fault. We brought 17 ITEMS to enter!!!! SO...6 of those were the girls..... ya, the rest were mine! lol I have never done this before so we will see how it goes. I'm so thankful to my husband for helping out! We had to write our address 3 TIMES on EACH card we filled out!! If I wasn't before, I am CERTAIN where we live now!! LOL
There was quite a lot of talented people there and many beautiful creations! Today we will go see if any of ours won anything and check out all the others, not to mention get to see the cow's and pigs!!! Now, all who know me well know I LOVE cow's and pigs!! My dream is to have my own some day!! This is in STARK contrast to my mother who isn't really thrilled with any animal that poops....um, that's ALL OF THEM mom!!! :)
Any who, ok, off to the fair in a few hours, will come back with lots of fun pics I'm sure!! See ya'll later!

New spoon necklaces to be, and a new lunch bag!

Here are some sweet Littlest Petshop spoon necklaces that I decoupaged! I really like how these came out, atleast so far. They still need to be varnished and they need the necklace part! LOL But here is what they look like so far!

This is an experiment that I did with some paper and page protectors. Made much like the clutch purse posts on this page, but had to figure out how to do the bottom. QUITE tricky but managed to make it work!

More new bracelets! and way # 5 to use Toilet Paper Rolls!

These are some of the new braceletes I have made. Most are made from soda bottles. Some are ribbon spools.

I also thought I would show way #5 I am using toilet paper rolls!(click for #'s 1-4) They work great inside of empty cereal box's as individual ribbon holding tubes. This way, I can store left over ribbon or even take the ribbon off the spool and have easy access to it!! I am LOVING this. I had them all up on a string, but when I wanted the one in the middle, I had to take all the other ones off to eather side....not working for me!! This does!

My First almost finished Oatmeal purse!

I am really loving how this turned out. SO CUTE fabric!! I just need to trim the edge circles with something cute... like little white fuzz ball trim or something like that... until then, here's some pics of the almost finished purse!! FUN!

Here are some that I have painting and are waiting to become cute and fun purses!!

This one I chose to cover in fabric!! I'm diggen it!

My little girl got glasses!

Kayla was starting to really have a hard time reading, so much to the point that she couldn't even read any words anymore! She said she was seeing double and fuzzy. SO, time for an eye appointment. This was the LONGEST eye appointment I have ever been through before. She got a lot of extra tests to figure out what was going on with her double vision. In the end, there is still a little confusion. She can see far just great, but close up it is not only fuzzy but she starts to see double. SO, she now how some reading glasses and a appointment with a focusing specialist! She is SO happy to have the glasses! She can finally see again!! She actually came home and couldn't wait to read her Abraham Lincoln book!! YEAH!!

Part 1 of Puzzle Friendship Necklaces!

This is a fun idea I found that I am putting my own twist to. It's a great craft to do with the kiddos too!
Here's some pics of Sam and Kay doing theirs:

Then we have Benjamin doing some coloring.... when he's not trying to eat the crayons!!! YUCK!

Ok, here we go:

Grab some puzzle pieces that you don't use anymore. You want two that connect horizontally. I got some medium size pieces.

Now paint a few coats of white paint on both sides and the edges until there nice and covered.

Here are the four sets I'm doing.

Now paint a design you like!! Sky's the limit!

Now to make them necklaces, I put some ...I think there called gromets?? into them. I used one hole for some and added some O rings to those and then I used two holes in others and just put the necklace string through them both from back, through and then through the other side... WOW, now that is a run on sentence! LOL
I forgot to take picks of this step so i will do a part 2 to this post ASAP.
Enjoy!

Strawberries and falling limbs....

Today we got to pick a bunch of ripe strawberries from our three small plants in the front. There kinda less then normal lookin, but there ours!! LOL

On a not so great note, part of our tree once again fell on our house!! This time, it did alittle damage but not to much. The real damage is that we have no choice but to get the tree removed now.... The limb that fell is still very slightly attached to the tree and just hanging there to high up and out of reach. SO, we have to get it cut down. Honestly we have wanted it cut down for years, but never had the money. Well, it's coming down now and we still don't have the money, but we also have no choice......... I hate debt.....

On a slightly more happy note, I made my first completed oatmeal purse yesterday!! It's so cute!!!  I will have pictures up for ya'll soooooon!!!

Quicky post of my newly made Patchwork Starburst Belt!

I have been itchen to make a candy wrapper belt for some time and finally got a chance to a few days ago.  Many starbursts were consumed in the making of this belt....:)  YUMMO!  Used some wide clear tape, canvas fabric I had for the back and a sewing machine!Just need to add some D rings.  I had some rectangle style ones that I added, only to find out that they won't work right...keep slipping through each other...Soooo, need to get some D rings that are a little smaller then the ones I have.  That should do the trick!!  I just love pink, don't you!!!
