Garden's ROCK!!!

I gotta say, this is one of my favorite times of year!!! I so enjoy all the flowers blooming with there beautiful colors, and especially enjoy all the FOOOOOOOD to be grown!! This year we didn't do any planting in the ground because the chickens took over our way to shady garden area. Soooo , we are five gallon gardening!! Take a look at how things are coming so far!

Two pea's in a pod

I must admit... I have two adorable and WACKY girls!! Jason and I were just sitting in our room chatting when there came a knock at the door..... SURPRISE!!! take a look!

Trip to Social Suppers

Recently, the kids and I got to finally go see what it is like over there at Social Suppers in Leavenworth. Social Suppers is a place where you can come and pay to make and bring home all sorts of fun meals for your family or for a gift to other families. The girls got to go and make calzones this day:)

Bull Frog Fun

The girls spotted this bull frog, affectionately called 'Hogwarts", in our back yard last week. They were So excited and wanted to keep it forever and ever...of course:) SO, we went to the pet shop to ask the owner all he knew about Bull Frogs. He shared with us that it is actually illegal to keep any wildlife you catch in Kansas.... Sooooo.... we got Hogwarts 12 juicy grass hoppers, fed him them over night and released him into our "Secret Garden" down the road. Here are some pics we took to remember him by:)

Even as a little girl I can remember wanting chickens. I always thought they would just be really fun pets. Fun to watch, fun to try and catch, soft to pet and especially, fun to check for eggs each day! Well, dreams do come true!!! In Gods timing, it is finally our time to have chickens!! We were very blessed by friends to get us started and now they are here to stay. We created a coop around my old garden that didn't get enough light to grow much cause of all these trees!! So we built it up to 6ft high and covered it all with chicken wire so they won't fly out and roost in the trees! We were blessed with the gift of a chicken coop so we put that in and cleaned it out, added some straw to the lay box's, a hanging feeder inside and walla!! We each have a chicken as well. Jason's chicken is Shelby (mustang), the black and white spotted one. My chicken is Bessy ( because I can't have my cow named Bessy, so for now I will settle for my brown/red chicken). She is small and quite endowed! Kayla's chicken is the white one, her name is Brittney. She is the only one I believe who still hasn't laid an egg. Soooo, she may just become dinner!! Samantha's hen is the Coop Leader! She is tanner and she is... tan of course! She is QUITE big and will face off with our dog Rocky. She will peck his nose if he gets to close!!! GO TANNER!! And last but not least is Benjamin's chicken Uh-OH! Yes, her name is Uh-Oh, because Ben loves to say UH OH!! So there ya have it. Our little urban chickens!! Here are some pics:

Morning Volcano Making!

A couple days ago we were learning about volcano's:) After our lesson we were given instructions to create our own quick volcano! SO, this is how it went:

First we gathered the supplies...
a bottle, some newspaper, some tape, teaspoon of baking soda ( at first hehe), half a cup of vinegar ( at first hehe), funnel, scissors and food coloring ( disregard the yellow, we changed to actually red before the commencing of explosions:)

Second we started to build...
